Determination of Saccharin concentration in Nickel bath

Analysis of saccharin makes it possible to determine its concentration within the nickel plating bath, contributing to the control of the electroplating process. Monitoring of this additive is essential to ensure that the nickel deposit exhibits the desired characteristics, such as a smooth and bright finish, meeting the required quality standards. In addition, proper management of saccharin allows optimization of additive consumption, improving process efficiency and reducing waste, resulting in both economic and environmental benefits.

Method

Test type: End Point.

Testing time: 6 minutes.

Analysis sessions with multiple samples are possible up to a maximum of 16 tests for CDR GalvanLab® and 3 tests for CDR GalvanLab® Junior.

Sample treatment

The sample can be used as is.

Principle of the test

The sample is dissolved in an appropriate solvent that allows absorbance measurement at a fixed wavelength; the optical intensity is proportional to the saccharin concentration in the nickel bath sample analyzed.

Calibration curve

Calibration curve was obtained by correlating the CDR method with the reference method.
